Easter is not about peeps, jellybeans, chocolate bunnies, or colored eggs.
True…it has become a tradition to fill the Easter baskets with candy and to hide the eggs for the children to find.
These are fun and enjoyable things to do; especially when you see your children’s faces light up with excitement.
But, that is not the Easter message!
Are you sharing the true Easter story with your children?
Easter is Resurrection Sunday!
We celebrate because Jesus is alive!
Jesus, who is our Savior, gave His life as our sin sacrifice so that we can have eternal life with Him in Heaven!
He did not stay dead in the grave. He rose from the dead on the third day as He had promised.
“But very early on Sunday morning the women went to the tomb, taking the spices they had prepared. They found that the stone had been rolled away from the entrance. So they went in, but they didn’t find the body of the Lord Jesus. As they stood there puzzled, two men suddenly appeared to them, clothed in dazzling robes.”
Luke 24: 1-4 NLT
“The women were terrified and bowed with their faces to the ground. Then the men asked, “Why are you looking among the dead for someone who is alive? He isn’t here! He is risen from the dead! Remember what he told you back in Galilee, that the Son of Man must be betrayed into the hands of sinful men and be crucified, and that he would rise again on the third day.”
Luke 24:5-7 NLT
